This book details the journey from the early days of Mighty Oaks, on to big stages, and into the studio for the creation of the second album, Dreamers.
Based out of Berlin, Germany, multinational indie folk trio Mighty Oaks formed in 2010 around the talents of multi-instrumentalists and vocalists Ian Hooper (United States), Claudio Donzelli (Italy), and Craig Saunders (United Kingdom). The release of their debut album Howl with Universal Records in 2014 reached the Top-10 of the German album charts, and put them on the road throughout Europe, and the United States, for the better part of three years. Their second album Dreamers will be released March 2017.
Who would have thought that the Swiss based photographer Lukas Maeder would have become part of this journey that Mighty Oaks were on? It all started when Lukas met the Berlin-based band during their tour for their first album Howl, and since then, his presence became a normality.
The book “We’ll never be this young again” represents the ecstasy of the road and the authenticity of the band. Lukas was the observer, capturing the moment, but he also became a part of the Mighty Oak's family. It is with his analog camera and his endless curiosity that Lukas captured raw moments of the band. He followed the journey of the band with a feeling of joy similar to the band itself—their success was his, as much as their struggle.
Born 1987 in Switzerland, photographer Lukas Maeder works on assignments for national and international magazines, publications and advertising agencies. Parallel to commissioned activities, he also works on a number of personal projects.
